Classes

Our current available class times are listed on the online calendar below and in the store calendar. Any of these time slots can be used for the technique of your choosing, as long as it has not already been allocated for another technique. All classes need to be scheduled in advance, call store for available class times. We hope by doing this we are creating a more flexible schedule for possible students. Any of these time slots can also be used for private lessons or group parties.

 

The basic techniques class fee includes materials and is $25 per person. All other classes are $15 per person, not including materials. For these classes you may choose to use the stores class supplies instead of purchasing your own for an extra $10. All private 1-on-1 lessons are $25 per hour, not including materials. Class times can be reserved for private parties of 4 or more and will retain the same fee as any other class.

Macrame $15 per person, materials not included

Learn basic square knot macrame to create an adjustable bracelet.

Materials for this class are as follows:

• Chinese knotting cord or S-lon heavy cord.
• Beads with holes large enough to fit on your choice of cord or thread. The number of beads is a personal preference and can be anywhere from 1 to as many as will fit on one bracelet.

 

 

Macrame Pendant $15 per person, materials not included

In this class you will learn how to macrame around a stone to create a pendant!

Materials for this class are as follows:

• 25mm or smaller bead or cab.
• Cord (med. S-lon, heavy S-lon, hemp, or chinese knotting cord).
• Big Eye Needle.

 

 

 

Wire Wrapped Pendant $15 per person, materials not included

You will create a basic wire wrapped pendant in this class!

Materials for this class are as follows:

• Stone or Cab.
• 21gauge square wire.
• 18 gauge half round wire.
• Mandrel.

 

 

 

Wire Wrapped Ring $15 per person, materials not included

Make a basic wire wrapped ring!

Materials for this class are as follows:

• Ring mandrel.
• 8mm or larger bead.
• 22 gauge wire.

 

 

 

Bead Tatting $15 per person, materials not included

Create beaded lace in this beginners class for bead tatting. You will make a tatted pendant!

Materials for this class are as follows:

• Tatting shuttle.
• S-lon Medium or Cotton.
• 6 or 8mm bead.
• 17 small accent beads (2-4mm)
• 1.4mm crochet hook.

 

 

Soutache Pendant $15 per person, materials not included

Learn the basics of creating soutache jewelry!

Materials for this class are as follows:

• Soutache cord (up to 3 colors).
• Size B Nymo thread.
• Size 12 beading needles.
• 4mm beads(11 beads)
• 6mm to 8mm beads (2 beads).
• Focal flat stone.
• Ultra suede backing.
• Bail.

 

3 Row Leather Wrap $15 per person, materials not included

Make an advanced leather wrap bracelet with 3 rows of beads.

Materials for this class are as follows:

• 2 buttons
• Beads (8mm or smaller, rounds or rondelles).
• 50 inches of 1.5mm leather.
• Fine S-Lon cord.
• Large Eye Needles.

 

Beaded Cabochon $15 per person, materials not included

Learn how to bead around a pendant or cabochon and add a bail.

Materials for this class are as follows:

• Main bead or stone cabochon. (30x22mm or smaller) (Glue the stone to beaded foundation sheet before the day of class).
• E6000 glue.
• 11/0 Delica beads.
• Beading needles size 12.
• S-lon tex 45 fine thread.
• Ultra suede backing.
• Size 15/0 seed beads.
• Bail.
• Backing sheet.

 

Leather Wrap $15 per person, materials not included

Learn to use nylon thread to suspend your choice of beads in between two cords of leather while creating a double wrapped bracelet.

Materials for this class are as follows:

• A button .
• 42 inches of 1.5mm leather
• Fine S-Lon Cord
• 8mm or smaller beads
• Large Eye Needles.

 

Basic Techniques $25 per person

Learn the basics of beginner jewelry making. The techniques included in this class are basic loop making and using crimp beads with flexible wire. In the class you will make a necklace, earrings and a bracelet.

Materials for this class are included in the cost.

 

 

 

 

Knotting $15 per person, materials not included

Learn to create jewelry with beads and thread while adding knots in between the beads. You can make a mala, restring a set of pearls, or knot a new necklace.

Materials for this class materials may vary depending on the style of necklace you choose to make:

• Your choice of threading material (nylon thread, silk thread, conso, s-lon)
• Knot cover kit, if you will be adding a clasp to your necklace or bracelet
• Beads that will fit on the type of thread you choose
• Possibly a tassle or charm.
• A set of hat pins

 

Beaded Rivoli Earrings $15 per person, materials not included

Learn to bead a bezel around a Swarovski Rivoli Crystal. Peyote is the technique used in this class.

Materials for this class are as follows:

• 2 14mm Rivoli Crystals
• 11/0 delica beads.
• S-lon Tex 45 thread.
• 15/0 seed beads.
• Small jump rings.
• Earwires.

 

Viking Knit $15 per person, materials not included

Learn this centuries-old form of weaving wire by means of a looping technique. You can form a bezel around a stone to make a ring or pendant, or make a chain-like bracelet using a Viking Knit tool.

Materials for this class are as follows:

• 18 gauge square wire(for ring or pendant).
• 28/26 gauge wire.
• Stone cabochon or bead for center
• Viking knit tool (for bracelet)
• End caps/ or wire for end caps (for bracelet).
• clasp

 

Crochet $15 per person, materials not included

Learn to create a crochet chain with beads and how to finish it off into a necklace.

Materials for this class are as follows:

• Crochet hook (size 2-2.25mm or smaller if desired)
• Button or knotcover kit.
• Thread (conso, s-lon, metallic, nylon, silk).
• Beads that will fit on your choice of thread.
• Pendant (optional).

 

 

Basic Wire Wrapped Loops $15 per person, materials not included

Learn to add a little extra something to your basic loops by wrapping wire under the loops. In the class you will make a bracelet.

Materials for this class are as follows:

• Your choice of 22 or 24 gauge wire (it is better to start with base metal wire as it is more flexible and the size of the wire will depend on the beads you choose to use)
• Beads, however many you need to create your desired project (see the example for further help)
• A clasp for the bracelet
• A charm and jump ring (optional).

 

Brick Stitch $15 per person, materials not included

Learn a bead weaving stitch where beads are stacked upon each other. Make a chevron-style pendant using the brick stitch technique.

Materials for this class vary as follows:

• Beads (up to 5 colors of size 11/0 delica beads
• S-Lon Tex 45 fine thread
• Beading needles size 12
• Length of chain
• clasp
• small, fine jump rings

 

Peyote $15 per person, materials not included

Learn an off-loom bead weaving technique to make a tube shaped bead that fits around leather.

Materials for this class vary as follows:

• Size 11/0 delica beads.
• S-Lon Tex 45 thread
• Beading needles size 12.
• 10mm leather (enough for bracelet length).
• Clasp for leather.

 

Kumihimo Necklace $15 per person, materials not included

Learn the basics of Japanese braiding in this beginners class. You will make a beaded necklace.

Materials for this class vary as follows:

• 12 yards of 1mm rattail.
• 1 tube of 7/0 matubo seed beads.
• Kumihimo Disk
• Clasp
• 22 gauge wire
• 2 6mm end caps
• 8 small bobbins
• Kumihimo weight

 

 

Kumihimo Flat Bracelet $15 per person, materials not included

Learn the basics of Japanese braiding in this beginners class. You will make a beaded, flat bracelet.

Materials for this class vary as follows:

• Approx. 160″ of 1 to 4 colors of hemp, rattail, or knotting cord.
• Beads that will fit your cord choice.
• 2 half inch ribbon ends.
• Clasp
• Square Kumihimo Disk.
• Kumihimo weight

 

Beaded Kumihimo Bracelet $15 per person, materials not included

Learn the basics of Japanese braiding in this beginners class. You will make a beaded bracelet.

Materials for this class may vary as follows:

• Kumihimo Disk
• 8 small Bobbins
• S-lon Medium bead cord
• Kumihimo weight
• Bead caps or cones
• 22 gauge wire
• Clasp
• 1 tube of size 8/0 seed beads
• 2 strands of 4mm fire polished beads

We ask that you thread 18 inches of size 8/0 seed beads and then 10 inches of 4mm fire polished beads directly on your s-lon bobbin cord before the class.
